Peterhof (Petrodvorets)
Founded in 1710 by Peter the Great, Peterhof is often called 'Russian Versaille', but is much bigger and has its own unique features. Tsarskoye selo (Pushkin)
The former tsar residence located 24 km south-west from the city is famous for its magnificent parks and the Amber Room located in the Catherine Palace. You can also visit the Liceum where the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was educated. Read more

Pavlovsk

Gatchina
The Gatchina residence was built by the order of Catherine II for her favourite Grigory Orlov. After Orlov’s death in 1783 Catherine II presented the palace to her son Paul I and since then the Grand Gatchina Palace surrounded by a picturesque park became one of the imperial residences. Read more

Oranienbaum
This land was presented by Peter the Great to his favourite Alexander Menshikov. After Alexander Menshikov fell in disgrace in 1727, the land with all buildings was confiscated from him and became one of the tsar's residence. It is very close to Peterhof. Read more

The main attraction of Strelna is the residence of the President of Russian Federation located in the Konstantinovsky Palace. Shlisselburg
