St Petersburg Opera Theatre

St Petersburg Opera Theatre was
founded in 1987 by the famous theatre
director Yuri Alexandrov.
The repertoire of the theatre includes
different kinds of opera: from opera buffa
to classic opera and opera written by
modern composers.
The Theatre has toured to Finland,
Switzerland, Germany, the USA, Moscow
and many other cities throughout Russia.
For a long time the theatre didn’t have its
own stage, but finally the former mansion
of Baron von Derviz at 33 Galernaya
Street was acquired and on 27 May 2003
the renovated building of the theatre
opened its doors for public.
Buy tickets in the ticket office of the
theatre from 12 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4
p.m. to 7 p.m.
