In the year 1990 UNESCO inscribed many of the architectural and historical objects of St Petersburg and its surroundings into the UNESCO World Heritage List (see the full here).

Winter Palace where the world famous State Hermitage Museum is located, the Orthodox cathedrals such as Kazan Cathedral, St Isaac’s Cathedral and Church on the Savior on Blood.
Don’t miss the Strelka of the Vasiliyevsky Ostrov, the square on the Vasiliyevsky Island right near the Dvortsovy (Palace) Bridge where the Old Stock Exchange building and Rostral Columns are located.
Enjoy the rest in the Summer Garden, the oldest park in St Petersburg, where you can visit the Summer Palace of Peter the Great. Take a boat tour along the Neva river and canals to see the city from the different point of view.
