    UNESCO Heritage
In the year 1990 UNESCO inscribed many
of the architectural and historical objects of
St Petersburg and its surroundings into the
UNESCO World Heritage List (see the full
here).

The whole of the historical centre of the city
was included in the UNESCO World
Heritage. The most interesting buildings
and places are the
Peter and Paul Fortress
founded by Peter the Great in 1703, the

Winter Palace where the world famous State Hermitage Museum is located, the Orthodox
cathedrals such as
Kazan Cathedral, St Isaac’s Cathedral and Church on the Savior on
Blood.

Don’t miss the Strelka of the Vasiliyevsky Ostrov, the square on the Vasiliyevsky Island
right near the Dvortsovy (Palace) Bridge where the Old Stock Exchange building and
Rostral Columns are located.

Enjoy the rest in the
Summer Garden, the oldest park in St Petersburg, where you can
visit the Summer Palace of Peter the Great. Take
a boat tour along the Neva river and
canals to see the city from the different point of view.

And this is only the small part of the whole picture of our city. Browse the pages of our
website to learn what else you can see in St Petersburg.
